SINOPSIS
En “Danza de los Gigantes” descubrimos un universo festivo desde dentro, una mirada singular sobre una celebración universal, las Fiestas de San Fermín de Pamplona.

Es una película testimonial sobre el origen, la trayectoria y la magia de la Comparsa de gigantes, “kilikis”, cabezudos y “zaldikos”; personajes de cartón, que cobran vida a través de la danza, verdaderos emblemas de la ciudad. Figuras asociadas a la entrega y pasión de sus portadores, a la música que envuelve la danza, a la ilusión de toda la familia y, en particular, a la fantasía infantil.

Las imágenes de archivo, de cineastas locales y de directores como Orson Welles, sugieren la larga historia y las peripecias de la Comparsa, además de la evolución de la fiesta y de la sociedad a largo del tiempo.

SYNOPSIS
In ”Dance of the Giants” we get to discover a festive universe from the inside in a single glance of a universal celebration, the festivities of Saint Fermin of Pamplona.

This film is a testimony to the origin, the life and the magic of the giants, “kilikis”, big-heads, and “zaldikos” of the “Comparsa de Pamplona” (the Krewe of Pamplona) that come to life through dance, and are true emblems of the city. They are figures associated with the dedication and passion of those who wear them, the music the dance is surrounded by, the hope of the whole family, and in particular, the imagination of the children.

Archival images, of local filmmakers and directors, such as Orson Welles, show you the long history and contretemps of the krewe of Pamplona, as well as the evolution of the festivities and society throughout the years.
